Boediono Plans To Vote In Yogyakarta
Jakarta, July 8 (Antara) - Indonesian Vice President Boediono has planned to cast his vote for the July 9 presidential election in Yogyakarta since his identity card is registered in the city, noted the vice president`s spokesperson.
"Vice President Boediono will cast his vote at one of the polling stations available in Sawit Sari area of Depok, Yogyakarta," Yopie Hidayat stated here on Tuesday.
Despite the fact that Boediono in his power as the vice president resides in an accommodation provided by the state at Jalan Diponegoro, Jakarta, his identity card is issued by the Yogyakarta provincial administration, he added.
Before coming to power, Boediono and his family lived in Yogyakarta, and he worked as a professor of economics at the University of Gadjah Mada.
He and his wife had cast their votes at polling station number 102 in Pikgondang hamlet, Sawit Sari village, Condong Catur of Depok, Yogyakarta, for the parliamentary election on April 9, 2014.
According to Indonesia`s General Elections Commission (KPU), there are 186,722,030 registered voters for the July 9 presidential election with 486,866 polling stations across the archipelago.
The presidential election is contested by the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair and the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla duo.
