CCTVs in Bangkok to be upgraded

BANGKOK, August 22 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) says it is upgrading all close circuit televisions (CCTVs) installed in the capital to be automatically connected with its all control centers and police stations. Bangkok Governor Police General Asawin Kwanmuang told journalists of the update on August 21, explaining that the electronic circuits of all 34,000 "stand alone" CCTVs in the city will be upgraded for the automatic function. "Once upgraded, all the 34,000 CCTVs in all 50 districts in the capital will be functionally-connected with the City Hall's 12 control centers and 88 police stations in the city", said the governor. According to the governor, he expected that the upgrade of all the CCTVs in Bangkok should be completed within the next two months. The Bangkok governor stressed that he has also instructed all district authorities to fix any CCTV in their areas that is found out of order within one day. The governor noted, meanwhile, that BMA will continue to join forces with soldiers of the King's Guard Regiment, royal staff and general volunteers to clean water sources, roads and public sites in the capital, as assigned by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.
