Iran's ambassador: Iran has no military, advisory presence in Iraq

Baghdad, Dec 25, IRNA- The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad emphasized that Iran had no military presence, bases or even advisory presence in Iraq In a meeting with a number of Iraqi media activists in Baghdad on Tuesday, Iraj Masjedi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran had no military presence, base and even an advisory presence in Iraq and all the advisors who, in coordination with the Iraqi government, were helping to fight the ISIS, returned to the country after announcing the victory against the terrorist group. He added that after the victory against the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist Takfiri group, all Iranian military advisers left Iraqi territory and returned to Iran. By mid-December 2017, Iraq officially announced the ISIS military end. Masjedi continued that, unlike the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States continues to maintain its forces in the region, despite the end of the ISIS and in some places it has been strengthening its bases and military garrisons and creating new positions instead of announcing the end of its military mission.
