Nizami Ganjavi International Center convenes in Sofia

Baku, October 9, AZERTAC A conference titled "New Visions of Partnership & Neighbourhood for Europe" has kicked off in Sofia under the aegis of President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliyev. The event discusses economic, political and moral problems and refugee crisis in Europe. The conference brings together heads of government and former presidents of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Board Member of Nizami Ganjavi International Center Nazim Ibrahimov. President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliyev noted that Europe is now facing a very deep politic, economic and humanitarian crisis since the Second World War. Former President of Latvia, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi international Center Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Board Member of the center, former president of Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov praised the activity of the center. The event featured panel sessions. Nizami Ganjavi International Center was founded with the multiple aims of preserving the reach cultural heritage of the past as well as encouraging and fostering current scholarship, research, cultural activity and social outreach, with aim to be a center of excellence for the production of knowledge and to be a place of dialogue and understanding between cultures and people.
