Official announcement of Thailand's Cabinet reshuffle expected soon

BANGKOK, August 18 (TNA) - An official announcement of Thailand's Cabinet reshuffle is expected soon, as Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has confirmed that the issue has been forwarded to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej for a royal approval. The prime minister told journalists on Tuesday, after the Cabinet's weekly meeting at Bangkok's Government House, that he was awaiting the royal approval of a change in his Cabinet, the first reshuffle after his government was formed in September 2015. During the Cabinet's latest meeting, the prime minister said he also appointed former deputy government spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd to the post of the new Government Spokesman. The prime minister noted that Major General Sansern has already acted in the new post, but he was just officially appointed. Besides, the prime minister ordered relevant agencies to quickly track down those involving in a bomb attack at the Ratchaprasong Intersection in the heart of Bangkok on Monday night, killing 20 people and injuring about 120 others so far.
