Addressing the ceremony, Roknabadi referred to the Lebanese University as one of the most prestigious scientific and cultural bodies of Lebanon. He said inauguration of the Persian Language and Literature Department would provide a chance for those Lebanese students who were interested in learning Persian Language and it would help promotion of bilateral cultural relations between the two countries. The ambassador said in addition to having commonalities in culture and civilization, Tehran and Beirut shared also a joint enemy, the Zionist regime, which was pursuing its aggressive and occupying policies in the region. Iran and Lebanon would confront this joint enemy too, Roknabadi stressed.
