Thousands Of Shias Mourn Imam Hussein (AS) In London

London, Nov 26, IRNA – Thousands of people mourned the martyrdom of the third Shiite Imam Hussein (AS) here in the UK capital on Sunday. Shias from different nationalities residing in the UK first gathered in Hyde Park and then rallied towards the Islamic Assembly in West London on Sunday on the occasion of Ashoura, the 10th day of Muharram when Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred along with 72 of his followers about 1,300 years ago in Karbala. People from different walks of life wearing black clothes and holding green flags mourned the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS). Also today, millions of people mourned the Ashoura in Iran. Millions took part in massive processions across Iran, marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of one of Shiite Islam's most beloved leaders.
