Turkey says hajjis should travel by air
ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Turkish citizens returning from the Hajj should travel by air, as currently Syria was experiencing difficulties in maintaining public order.
A statement by the ministry said, "at present Syria is experiencing difficulties in maintaining public order which is negatively affecting safety on the roads. Therefore, for security reasons it is essential that our citizens returning from the Hajj should travel by air."
It said, "however, in cases where travel by road is unavoidable, journeys through Syria should be done during daylight hours."
An armed attack was staged on Monday on two buses carrying Turkish hajjis in a location between Syrian cities of Hama and Homs. Two people including a driver were slightly wounded in the attack, and they were hospitalized.
