Yunus Emre Institute to inaugurate Turkish Culture Center in Lebanon

BEIRUT (A.A) - Yunus Emre Institute, which organizes activities aimed at promoting the Turkish culture, art and history, will inaugurate Turkish Culture Center in Lebanese capital of Beirut. Faruk Ozturk, director of Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center in Beirut, said Monday that preparations were under way for the opening and the center would start to serve as of January 16.  Ozturk said that it would be first culture center to teach Turkish language in Beirut. The center will also carry out several activities to promote Turkish culture there, he said. Ozturk said there were 18 Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Centers in 16 countries, adding that more than 10,000 people learnt Turkish language and culture in these centers. (Reporting by Eyup Coskun)
