Algeria Ready To Develop Ties With Tehran : Speaker

Algiers, Oct 17, IRNA – Algerian People's National Assembly Speaker Mohamed al-Arabi Ould Khalifa said his country is ready to develop ties with Tehran in all fields especially in parliamentary affairs. Al-Arabi Ould Khalifa, in a meeting with Iran Ambassador to Algeria Mahmoud Mohammadi here on Tuesday, by referring to the good relations between the two countries, called for expansion of bilateral, regional and international cooperation between Tehran and Algiers. Mohammadi submitted Majlis speaker invitation letter to Ould Khalifa to pay a visit to Iran and underlined necessity of establishment of parliamentary friendship group and exchanging delegations and experiences between the two parliaments. Referring to good ties and growing cooperation between the two countries, Mohammadi called upcoming joint economic commission to be held in Algiers as an opportunity for developing economic cooperation in public and private sectors. Mohamed al-Arabi Ould Khalifa was already ambassador of Algeria to Tehran and was chosen as the Lower House Speaker on May 2012./end
