Bomb Attack Kills 4 Election Campaigners In Pakistan

Islamabad, April 17, IRNA -- A roadside bomb blast, targeting election campaigners, Tuesday killed three close relatives and a guard of a political leader in Pakistanˈs Balochistan province, police said. The bomb exploded in Khuzdar district near a motorcade of main Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) party. The party provincial president, Sanaullah Zehri, escaped unhurt in the attack. However, his son, brother, cousin and a guard were killed in the attack. Police said that nearly 20 other people were injured in the blast. They were shifted to nearby hospitals. No group claimed responsibility. The Interior Ministry had earlier warned of attacks ahead of elections by the Taliban and two other groups in the country. The attack has raised concerns about security ahead of the May 11 elections./end
