Dy FM calls for resumption of political interactions with Chile

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi on Sunday called for resumption of Iran-Chile political interactions. Sarmadi made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with Chile's newly-appointed non-resident ambassador to Iran Christian Boros who presented a copy of his credentials to the Iranian official. Sarmadi underlined the necessity to review cooperation between the two nations in cultural and economic domains, particularly in mining industry. He noted that Iran's influential role in the Middle East region and West Asia and that of Chile in Latin America indicate the need for enhanced relations between the two countries in different areas. The Chilean accredited ambassador, for his part, expressed hope that relations between the two countries would improve so that his government would dispatch resident ambassador to Tehran. Boros called for increased consultations between the two countries on different international issues./end
