Egyptian Official: 5+1 Solution Should Include Iran's N-rights

Tehran, Oct 2, IRNA – A top Egyptian official said Monday any solution to settle Iran's nuclear issue under the framework of its negotiations with the 5+1 Group should include Iran's legitimate nuclear rights. "Iran has the right to either accept or refuse the Additional Protocol of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," said the former vice-president of the agency's Board of Governors and Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt Ramzi Ezzeldin Ramzi. Speaking to IRNA, the official expressed hope that Tehran's talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany (5+1 Group) could bear fruitful results and remove concerns about Iran's eaceful nuclear activities. He also hoped that the talks would guarantee Iran's nuclear rights. As for Egypt's viewpoint about Iran and 5+1 negotiations, Ramzi said Cairo backed a solution which, equally, secures interests of both sides. Commenting on Tehran-Cairo relations after the era of Egypt's toppled dictator, Hosni Mubarak, the official said Egypt mulled fostering positive relations with all countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran in particular./end
