Tehran, July 23, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi here on Monday expressed hope that government of President-elect Hassan Rohani would witness a change in Wests approach toward Iran.
He hoped West would change its policy of confrontation to that of cooperation.
Salehi made the remarks in a meeting during which new German Ambassador to Iran Von Sternberg submitted a copy of his credentials to him.
Referring to Germany as a major and influential country in the international community, Salehi said as two partners, Tehran and Berlin enjoy enormous potentials to further boost bilateral cooperation particularly in economic and trade areas.
As the most stable country in the region, Iran could develop all-out cooperation with the European states, Germany in particular, in political, security, trade and energy fields, said the Iranian minister.
Meanwhile, the German diplomat said Iran plays a key role in regional and international stability.
