Four Militants Killed In SW Pakistan

Islamabad, Aug 13, IRNA – At least four armed men were killed in a search operation carried out by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in south western Balochistan on Monday, local media reported. Upon receiving information about suspected militants, FC persons conducted the operation in Bolan district of Balochistan. During the raid, an exchange of fire took place between militants and security personnel. Subsequently, four miscreants were killed, according to FC sources. Moreover, twenty-kilograms worth explosives, ammunition and other weapons were recovered from the operation. Meanwhile Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel on Monday defused a half-kilogram explosive device in north western city of Peshawar. Station House Officer (SHO) Riaz Ali Shah said the homemade bomb was planted in an empty plot along the road near the Hayatabad police station. Upon receiving information about the bomb, security forces summoned BDS personnel to the area who successfully defused the explosive./end
