Hassan Rowhani Leads Early Vote Count In Presidential Election

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – The election headquarters of the Interior Ministry announced Saturday morning that Hassan Rohani led the votes count in the 11th presidential election winning over 1,035,805 votes. According to the third statement of the headquarters, 2,114,063 valid ballots out of a total of 2,186,069 ballots, have been counted at 4,148 polling stations so far. Following are the vote totals from the early results: Hassan Rohani: 1,035,805 Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf: 377,733 Saeed Jalili: 302,748 Mohsen Rezaei: 240,280 Ali Akbar Velayati: 128,049 Mohammad Gharazi: 29,448 On Friday, millions of Iranian voters attended polling stations to cast their votes and choose the country’s 11th president as well as their representatives in the city and rural councils.
