Iran-Pakistan Call For Boosting Ties

Washington, April 23, IRNA – Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Abdul Hafeez Shaikh here on Sunday called for enhanced mutual ties in all areas. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 2012 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group which is currently under way in Washington. The Iranian and Turkish ministers also underlined the need for implementing joint projects. Expansion of bilateral trade, joint Taftan railway project and export of Iranian electricity to Pakistan were among other issues discussed in the meeting. The 2012 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group opened in Washington on April 20 and will be wrapped up on April 22. The 2012 Annual meeting will be held on October 12-14./end
