Iran ready for immediate implementation of deal to secure release of Iranian prisoners: Spox

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Wednesday that Iran stands ready to immediately implement an existing deal that is expected to secure the release of Iranian nationals that are innocently imprisoned in the country. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters when asked to comment about viewpoints by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the US Special Envoy for the Iran Affairs Robert Mali. The spokesman said that Iran has been pursuing the case independently from the JCPOA talks and has on different occasions hinted readiness to the US side for dealing with the issues of prisoners. Kanaani said that it is surprising that the US has just resorted to propaganda against Iran instead of removing the obstacles on the way of releasing the prisoners in practice.
