Iran Speaker: New Mideast Emerging Based On Islamic Awakening, Heroic Struggles

Tehran, June 23, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said a new Middle East is emerging on the basis of principles of the Islamic Awakening and heroic struggles. He made the remarks while addressing opening ceremony of the 9th International Conference of Mahdism Doctrine which kicked off here Sunday morning with participation of several domestic and foreign scholars and experts. The two-day event is to examine several issues including the ground-setting education, strategies and approaches of Mahdism. In his remarks, Larijani said that the new Middle East will be built through hard struggles and not by relying on American armaments and the paid killers who are damaging the portrait of true Islamic Jihad. He said the extremist terrorists are the major cause of misery of Muslims because their actions are triggered by ignorance and desire for adventurism while the Islamic Jihad is inspired by rationality to create an atmosphere of friendship and humanity./end
