Iran Successfully Test-fires New Missile Systems

Birjand, South Khorassan Prov, Nov 14, IRNA – Iran’s Air Force has successfully test fired two optimized ‘Qader’ and ‘Ya-Zahra’ missile systems in the third day of the Velayat-4 air defense maneuver in this eastern province. The two indigenous air defense systems were optimized by experts of the Iranian Defense Ministry. The Qader missile was designed and manufactured by Iranian experts. The missile has been equipped with the electro-optic and laser rangefinder systems. Meanwhile, the ‘Ya-Zahra’ missile is designed to be used in low altitude. The Velayate-4 antiaircraft maneuver started in this eastern province on Monday to display defensive power of the Iranian armed forces. Various air defense systems including electronic warfare instruments, radars, missiles, wiretapping, observation posts and artillery units are participating in the military drill codenamed ‘Ya Rasoul-allah’. The maneuver is being held in a 850,000-square-meter area demonstrating Army’s air defense capabilities including various types of long-range radar systems as well as its fighter, transport, tanker and drone planes. The F-4, F-5, F-7 and F-14 jet fighters as well as Mirage and Sukhoi aircraft and surveillance planes took off from eastern and southern air bases flying over the sky of the military drill’s area. On the second day of the maneuver, the mid-range ‘Hag’ missile was also test fired hitting a mock target./end
