Iranian Nation’s Demands, Aspirations Universalized: President

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that Iranian nation’s demands and aspirations have been universalized with other nations following suit.
Speaking at Tehran Mehrabad Airport upon return from the three-nation tour of Latin America, President Ahmadinejad said, “The goals Iranian nation used to follow up in 1979, the year marking triumph of Islamic Revolution, are today topics of other nations' demands with wider scope globally.”
He said, "Today, nations and the elites in various countries, including Brazil, mention Iranian nation’s demand, eyeing Iranian nation as a model and focal point of their demands and causes.
Recalling his meetings with various officials, including the UN chief, on the sidelines of the Rio+20 Conference in Rio de Janeiro, President Ahmadinejad said the most important meetings held on the sidelines of the session were the one with the UN chief Ban Ki-moon, in which the latest regional and international issues were discussed.
He said, “In meeting with the UN Secretary General we raised our concern over developments and war mongering in the region, making clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to support any plan for fair peace in the region.”
On his other contacts with the media and Brazilian elite, the president said the most important global issues were discussed in those contacts.
As for the Rio+20 conference, he said it was a highly important international session.
“Some western states had raised set of proposals to set pattern through which they would dictate their favorite life style to other nations. The G77 and independent states as well as Brazil, the host of the meeting and one of the opponents of the western life style, led the western style to the margin. The Brazilian government managed the meeting well to act against westerners’ proposal. Some western states were not much pleased with the meeting, boycotting it.”
As for his tours of Bolivia and Venezuela, he said the two revolutionary and anti-arrogance states maintain good relations with Iran.
Iran plans commissioning many economic, industrial, technological and health projects in Venezuela and Brazil, said the president, adding that during visits to the two countries, the projects were reviewed.
He touched on a housing project undertaken by Iranian companies in Venezuela, saying it would be one of the big and ever-lasting projects in Venezuela.
He said Iranian companies have set up many plants in Venezuela and Bolivia, which would be operational in the future.
On Bolivia visit, he noted that during the visit, he and President Morales reviewed grounds for cooperation in the fields of energy, oil and gas as well as the regional and international subjects./end
