Iran's Deputy FM Meets With Namibian President

Tehran, May 19, IRNA – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs met with Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba in Windhoek on Friday.
In the meeting, Hossein Amir-Abdulahian underlined use of nuclear peaceful achievements in direction of serving all human beings.
He said Iran has always supported logical negotiations and respectful behavior for all nations.
Concerning developments in the Middle East and North Africa, the deputy condemned alien interference and terrorist acts in Syria and underlined Iran’s support for Syrian people and reform plans of President Bashar al-Assad.
Criticizing dual policies and continuation of oppression and massacre of people of Bahrain, he said taking hasty decisions and imposing illogical methods have made Bahrain close to an exploding point, which would have undesirable consequences on security in the region.
About mutual relations with Namibia, Amir-Abdulahian said bilateral ties are in a good situation, but they are not as much as existing capacities.
President Pohamba expressed his pleasure with receiving President Ahmadinejad's invitation to attend Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Tehran and said that Namibia will never forget Iran’s support during independence struggle.
He added he is confident that Iran is opposed to any kind of producing, maintaining and using nuclear weapons and considers it religiously forbidden.
President Pohamba said that efforts to topple Syrian government is condemned and dual policies on developments in Libya, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain are unacceptable./end
