Kazakhstan’s upper parliament house asks President Nazarbayev to appoint extraordinary presidential polls

ASTANA, February 19. /TASS/. Kazakhstan’s upper parliament house has asked President Nursultan Nazarbayev to appoint extraordinary presidential elections.
A total of 41 out of 42 members of the Senate voted in favour this document at the Senate’s session on Thursday.
"In conditions of growing global tension, with emerging conflict situations and crises in the global economy, it is vital to ensure political stability," the lawmakers said in their appeal to the president.
They noted that Kazakhstan was entering a new stage of its development. "In this connects, of major importance is stability which is a key conditions for successful course you are pursuing towards reforms," the document says.
On February, the Council of Kazakhstan People’s Assembly came out with an initiative to hold extraordinary presidential elections. Under the Kazakh laws, presidential elections are appointed by the head of state and organized within two months since the day of their appointment.
