Larijani: Iran-Malaysia Ties Help Bolster Unity Among Muslims

Tehran, May 1, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that enhacned ties and cooperation between Iran and Malaysia play a significant role in bolstering unity among world Muslims. According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Majlis, Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Tan Siri Bandikar Amin Molia in Tehran on Monday. Iranian Majlis welcomes expansion and deepening of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, he said. Various set of sanctions imposed against Iran indicate that the big powers are reluctant to witness Iran’s progress and development, he said, adding that world powers do not care about Islamic countries and try to attain their sinister goals by obstructing their economic and technological progress and interfering in their internal affairs. The Malaysian parliament speaker, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the current relations between the two countries and said the Malaysian people along with their officials are determined to expand economic, political and cultural cooperation with Iran. The Malaysian parliament speaker and his entourage are in Iran to attend the Assembly of the Forum of Asia Pacific Parliamentarians for Education in Tehran. It is incumbent upon all countries in the region to exchange views and experiences on education and augment their knowledge in order to overcome hurdles and shortcomings, he said./end
