Pakistan Playing Key Role For Uniting Muslim States: Ayatollah Taskhiri

Islamabad, June 13, IRNA – A prominent Iranian cleric has said that Islamic Republic of Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and the country is playing a key role for bringing unity among Muslim states.
Talking to IRNA exclusively at a seminar on Inter Faith Harmony in Islamabad, Ayatollah Muhammed Ali Taskhiri, said that the seminar has provided an opportunity for him to sit with prominent religious, political and social personalities of Pakistan.
He said that the seminar has become a tradition and is taking place in Pakistan every year.
Head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought expressing his views said that, "We are trying to discuss issues of different sects of Islam and find out their solutions."
Ayatollah Taskhiri said that basic objective of holding such seminar is to create solidarity in hearts of the people.
Answering another question on awakening in Muslim Ummah he said that it is a gift of God Almighty which has removed arrogant and authoritarian governments.
He said Islamic awakening is a movement against the oppression on Muslims and would bring justice, freedom and democracy for the Muslim world. He called for further strengthening the awakening movements in Muslim countries.
Ayatollah Taskhiri expressing his views said that there is no doubt that the Pakistani nation has been supporting the Islamic awakening movement./end
