Pakistani Journalist Urges 5+1 To Facilitate Iran On Peaceful N-program

Islamabad, Jan 7, IRNA – A senior Pakistani Journalist on Sunday said that the Group 5+1 (five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany)must accept Iran’s nuclear right and facilitate the Islamic Republic in pursuing its peaceful nuclear program. Talking to IRNA, Nadeem Malik said that Iran has repeatedly assured the world that it is not interested in nuclear weapons and it has developed nuclear program for peaceful purposes. As a Non-Proliferation treaty (NPT) member-state, Iran underlines its right to fully benefit from its nuclear right and maintains its role as an active member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the NPT. Nadeem Malik went on to say that Iran has been cooperating with IAEA and observing all international laws regarding their nuclear program. According to the evidence available, he said that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and it does not intend to develop nuclear weapons. The analyst said that Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear technology like any other country of the world. Nadeem Malik said that the West is highly biased towards Iran’s nuclear program despite knowing the fact that Iran has a right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Expressing his views, the journalist said that Iran, defying tough sanctions imposed by the West, has been progressing a lot in the field of science and technology which is highly commendable. He believes that dialogue is the best way to settle issues, adding that the talks between Iran and G5+1 must continue. He said that peace must prevail in the world. Nadeem Malik said that G5+1 must address the Iranian concerns and facilitate the Islamic Republic in pursuing peaceful nuclear program. Nadeem Malik is a senior journalist.
