Pakistani Religious Party Warns Of NATO Supply Resumption

Islamabad, March 10, IRNA – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Secretary General and Senate opposition leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said here Friday Pakistani Muslims will not allow restoration of NATO supplies through Pakistan, a media report quoted him as saying.
The daily ‘Express Tribune’ reported that Haideri said that the US has suffered a crushing defeat in Afghanistan.
He criticized the Pak government saying that despite their repeated announcement to shoot down US drones following the Salala checkpost attack and before that, drone attacks have resumed again, and there has been no reaction at all on the part of the government and army.
Referring to the defense minister’s statement on restoring the NATO supplies citing humanitarian grounds, Haideri said that it was an “insult to call the Americans humans given the atrocities they are committing in Afghanistan against innocent people.”
Accusing the ruling elite of acting as American agents for the past 64 years, he said that “Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan and Awami National Party (ANP) and Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan are all participating in a race to please the US.”
Despite being an atomic power, Pakistan still has concerns about its safety, he added.
Haideri criticized the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for changing the school curriculum and alleged that the ANP had divided the province by renaming it.
He said that the Pakistani people were ready for an Islamic revolution, and that it was bound to come.
The JUI-F public meeting in Karachi had shown the truth about Imran Khan’s popularity, he added. He claimed that JUI-F will assemble a “Sea of Masses” in Peshawar on March 25 to show the dimension of the anti-US emotions existing among the people./end
