President: Lebanon-Iran, Harbingers Of Peace, Justice

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the two nations of Iran and Lebanon are harbingers of peace and justice for all other nations of the world, adding that the Iranian and Lebanese people have many cultural and historical commonalities. President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in the city of Dezful in his message on the occasion of the sisterhood of two cities of Dezful (in Iran's Khuzestan province) and Lebanon's Tyre city, also known as Sour, on Sunday. 'Two nations of Iran and Lebanon have many cultural and historical commonalities. They oppose occupations throughout the world, oppressions and bullying by big powers which can be seen now around the world,' the president said. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran always welcomes the expansion of bilateral cooperation and joint efforts by two countries aimed at upholding the dignity of the Lebanese people. The ceremonies marking the second anniversary of President Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon and signing the sisterhood deed between Tyre and Dezful cities was held in Dezful on Saturday in the presence of Iranian and Lebanese officials./end
