President meets Costa Rica's first vice president

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Mr Alfio Piva Mesen, the first Vice-president of Costa Rica on April 27. The Mongolian leader thanked Mr Piva Mesen for coming to the CoD's seventh Ministerial conference. He recalled how he had met with Costa Rica's President at Davos meeting last January and wished Mr Piva Mesen a nice stay in Mongolia. It is an honor to take part in the conference in Mongolia, Mr Piva said and extended warm greetings to the Mongolians and congratulated them on running such an event. He said his country highly speaks all activities Mongolia has been undertaking to strengthen the CoD and improve its structure. It is a historical event that the Costa Rican delegation arrived first ever time in Mongolia headed by the Vice president, he said. The current visit is to draw the two nations closer to each other, he stressed. Mr Piva Mesen said his country can share its experience in tourism with Mongolia. Costa Rica pays great attention to the green development and eco-tourism, for example, in the last year 1,5 million tourists were received, he noted and said he intends to meet the Mongolian Minister of tourism to share some ideas. He also said our two countries have same opinions about the contemporary democracy. The Mongolian President said "it is a historical visit indeed" and expressed a confidence that it will leave its traces in our relationship. We should work closer, the Mongolians should learn the Costa Rican expertise in tourism, besides, there are many works the two sides can do supporting each other in the international arena, he said and appreciated Costa Rica's achievements. Mr Elbegdorj said Mongolia will pass the CoD chairmanship to El Salvador and expressed a confidence that this Latin country will continue the works Mongolia has executed within two years.
