Religion Of Humanism, Common Religion Of Mankind : India

New Delhi, Oct 9, IRNA – India’s President Pranab Mukherjee Monday said that religion of humanism is the common religion of all human beings. Addressing a meeting with the 100-member delegation of youth from Bangladesh, the president said, “Human beings from all countries across the world have only one religion, that is, the religion of humanism.” The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace and was organized by the High Commission of India in Dhaka which acted in co-ordination with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The delegation was also planned to tour historical, educational, technical and industrial places in India. The 100-member delegation comprised Bangladeshi youth from diverse background including students, young journalists, entrepreneurs, social workers and representatives of voluntary organizations, said an official release. Appreciating the initiative taken by the High Commission of India in Dhaka for organizing the visit, President Pranab pointed out that half of the population in India and Bangladesh belonged to the younger generation. The basic objective of the visit of the Bangladeshi delegation was to foster goodwill and a better understanding of the two countries and to promote exchange of ideas as well as international understanding, values and culture among the Indian and Bangladeshi youth./end
