RI NGO Leader Participates In U.S. Leadership Exchange Program

Jakarta, Dec 4 (ANTARA) - The U.S. State Department invited Indonesian NGO leader Valencia Mieke Randa, who founded the movements "Blood4Life" and "Three Little Angels", to participate in a leadership exchange program with civil society members representing 25 countries from around the world. Mieke Randa and the other civil society leaders arrived in America December 2 for the two-week exchange program, the US Embassy here said in its official website on Tuesday. It will take them to Charlottesville, VA; Washington, DC; Silicon Valley, CA; and divide into smaller sub-groups to visit Kansas City, MO; Salt Lake City, UT; Austin, TX; Tampa, FL; and Raleigh, NC. Upon her return to Indonesia, Mieke Randa will serve as a representative of new civil society working groups for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton`s Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society. The program includes participants from Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Czech Republic, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Laos, Latvia, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nigeria, The People�s Republic of China, Peru, Russia, Samoa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
