Salehi: Russia, Iranˈs Main Priority For Making New Nuclear Power

Moscow, Feb 13, IRNA – Iranˈs Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Salehi said Russian Federation is Iranˈs main priority for making nuclear power plants. Speaking to IRNA in Moscow on Tuesday, Salehi said, ˈAccording to the 1992 Agreement between Iran and Russia, we have agreed to build nuclear power plants with the capacity up to 5,000 MWs in cooperation with Russia.ˈ ˈBushehr Nuclear Power Plant has the capacity of 1,000 MWs and we can build other power plants to produce more 4,000 megawatts of electricity,ˈ said Salehi. He added,ˈ Today, we had a good understanding to implement the 1992 Iran, Russia Agreement and we hope to start building the second nuclear power plant in Bushehr as soon as possible.ˈ /end
