Scholar Terms Ashton’s Tehran Visit Highly Significant

Ankara, March 12, IRNA – A professor of the Turkey’s Giresun University said Wednesday that the recent visit to Tehran of the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton was highly crucial as she represented 28 Europeans states. The Iranian professor of International Relations Abbas Qara-Aqajani told IRNA in an exclusive interview that after 34 years a policital figure from the Westˈs largest economic and political establishment paid an official visit to Iran. The visit took place on an equal footage and with no preconditions, said the professor. He stressed that Ashton’s visit to Iran was also a response to the Zionist regime and certain reactionary regimes that are against improvement of Iran-West ties./end
