Tehran Imam: Egypt Elites Must Not Let People Get Massacred

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA – Interim Friday prayers leader of Tehran urged Egyptian political, scientific, and religious elites to urgently figure out a solution to ongoing crisis in their country and not to let catastrophic massacre of people go on any longer. “Today the Egyptian Army has totally lost its legitimacy among the people and in some parts groups of people have got engaged in brutal clashes against other groups of people,” said Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahhedi-Kermani, addressing thousands of Tehrani worshipers at the former football field of the University of Tehran in his second Friday prayers sermon. He added, “The only possible outcome of this situation is getting killed and wounded of more people and therefore, the path for these bloodshed and interference of alien forces in that country should be blocked as soon as possible.” The interim Friday prayers leader reiterated that the alien forces are the factor contributing to insecurity in the countries, arguing, “Therefore, the big world powers should be provide with any pretexts to justify their military interference in countries, including becoming a nuisance against the lives and wealth of the Egyptians on pretext of establishing security.”
