Tehran-Washington Thaw Will Not Change Iran Approach On Syria: Iraqi MP

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Iraqi lawmaker Hussein Aziz Shaker Jasim said on Saturday that possible thaw of relations between Tehran and Washington will never affect Iranian support for Syria. Iraqi news website Al-Mashriq quoted Shaker Jasim as saying that historical relations between the Iranian and Syrian nations will never be influenced by thaw in Tehran-Washington relations. Shaker Jasim said that Iraqi occupation by the US troops helped strengthen the position of al-Qaeda terrorist group in the region. Al-Qaeda terrorist group is involved in sabotage and carrying out routine terrorist operations which led to bloodshed of Muslims in Iraq in favor of US policies, the Iraqi lawmaker said. Shaker Jasim added that al-Qaeda was created by the US which uses the terrorist group to destabilize the region./end
