West’s Strategy Is Protecting Zionist Regime: Deputy FM

Shahr-e Rey, Aug 18, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Iranian and Majlis Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said that the West in the Middle East pursues no diplomacy other than protecting the Zionist regime and also preserving the oil and gas security. “If the westerners and occupying powers are looking for political development in Syria, why do they bomb Syria’s infrastructure projects such as power stations and hydroelectric stations,” the diplomat said. Qashqavi noted that the diplomacy of West in the world is diplomacy of war and violence while Iran pursues the diplomacy of national dialogue and peace. Referring to the fact that Iran is making progress in all scientific and social arenas, the deputy foreign minister recommended those whose works are somehow related to diplomacy and foreign policy not to say things which would be harmful and only be beneficial to the enemies. “About 80 percent of the costs paid by the Islamic system in the diplomacy arena are due to slip of the tongue of some officials who speak without thinking before saying anything,” Qashqavi added. Referring to Quds Day, he noted that when late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini said the Beit-ul-Moqaddas belongs to all oppressed people of the world he meant that fights should aim Israel. “The people of Iran by supporting the oppressed people of Palestine should help them move towards liberating their country,” Qashqavi noted while referring to the fact that Quds Day has resulted in unity of Muslims./end
