Li Jiao wins all-Dutch duel for table tennis gold

Baku, June 19, AZERTAC Li Jiao won the all-Dutch Table Tennis final on Friday, beating Li Jie 4-0 to become the first European Games women's singles champion. Li Jiao, 42, triumphed 13-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-5 against her compatriot at Baku Sports Hall. She and Li Jie had already won a silver medal each at the Baku 2015 Games, playing together in the women's team event. Turkey's Hu Melek claimed the bronze after defeating Slovakia's Eva Odorova 4-1. The unseeded Odorova was hampered by a shoulder injury she suffered in the semi-finals.
