Turkish diver breaks two world records

ANKARA (A.A) - November 11, 2011 - A Turkish national diver has broken two world records. Sahika Ercumen dived to 70 meters and broke fixed weight vertical diving record, and dived to 60 meters and broke fixed weight without pallet diving. Ercumen attempted to outperform the record in Blue Hole diving area in Egypt under the supervision of World Underwater Federation (CMAS) referees. Both records will be registered after Ercumen undergoes doping tests. 26-year-old Sahika Ercumen broke 110-meter swim under ice record in Austria's Lake Weissensee on February 11, 2011, outperforming men's 108-meter record and women's 70-meter record in horizontal diving. She has won more than 100 medals in national and international swimming and underwater competitions since 1998.In 2003, she became the Turkish champion in pallet swimming in the 800-meter and 400-meter categories and in the underwater navigation competition.
