Envoy: Iran-Turkey Trade Exchange To Increase To Dlrs20b
Ankara, April 7, IRNA – Iran Ambassador to Turkey, in a meeting with Turkish Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz, who is also head of economic working group, called for increasing trade exchange to 20 billion dollars in current year.
In the meeting, Bahram Hosseinpour, by referring to recent successful visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tehran and underscoring economic agreements, stressed on necessity of development of trade and economic relations and increase of trade exchange between the two countries.
Trade exchange between Iran and Turkey was more than 16 billion dollars last year.
Cevdet Yilmaz, for his part, by referring to necessity of developing economic ties and considering existing economic capacities, underlined execution of agreements signed between officials of both countries.
He expressed hope that in future visits of different ministers of the two countries, existing cooperation could increase and all actual capacities could be used.
Yilmaz also called for acceleration of mutual acts for preparing ground for agreement on preferential trade as one of the most important measures for trade development between the two countries.
He underlined necessity of holding expert meetings and follow up of issues by related organizations to achieve set goals./end
