Tehran Ready To Boost Economic Ties With Sarajevo: Mehmanparast

Sarajevo, April 11, IRNA – The visiting Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday voiced Iran ’s readiness to further boost economic and trade ties with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In a meeting with Bosnian Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Affairs Dushan Neshkovic, he referred to Iran’s significant geopolitical situation in the Middle East region and said the Islamic Republic of Iran and Bosnia have great economic and trade potentials to cooperate.
Iran is situated in the heart of Middle East surrounded by several big markets belonging to regional states, he added.
Expressing his satisfaction with the current level of political relations between the two nations, Mehmanparast called for further expansion of economic and trade ties with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He then called for expansion of cooperation in the fields of tourism and media between the two countries.
Terming the first session of Iran-Bosnia joint Economic Commission as positive and fruitful, he said Tehran is ready to hold the second session in the next few months.
Mehmanparast said Iranian traders and businessmen are ready to participate in the upcoming seminar on investment opportunities scheduled to be held in Sarajevo next month.
For his part, Neshkovic lauded Iran’s great potentials in various fields and called for expansion of cooperation in the food industries.
Welcoming exchange of tourists between the two countries, he reiterated that promotion of tourism and export of agricultural products would lead to his country’s economic prosperity.
Neshkovic welcomed investment of Iranian traders in various fields in his country and underlined the need for participation of Iranian private sector in different economic and trade projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mehmanparast, heading a media delegation, is currently in Sarajevo, Bosnia - Herzegovina, on the first leg of a three-nation tour which will later take him to Serbia and Croatia./end
