Iran-Malaysia Determined To Reinforce Peace Throughout The World

Tehran, May 2, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that Iran and Malaysia share common views on regional and international issues and are willing to take effective steps to reinforce peace and justice in the world. In a meeting with Malaysian Speaker of Parliament Pandikar Amin Mulia, President Ahmadinejad said that Tehran and Kuala Lumpur enjoy cordial relations in light of common cultural grounds and the two nations' endeavors to help bolster international peace and friendship. Ahmadinejad said that Iran-Malaysia cooperation benefits the two nations and the growth in economic and cultural cooperation serves the international peace and security. The president said that he was pleased with the growing trend of economic cooperation with Malaysia and hoped that the political and cultural cooperation would keep up with the level of trade relations. The Malaysian speaker expressed pleasure with enhanced cooperation between the two countries in different sectors. He said that Iran is a major trade partner of Malaysia, adding that the Malaysian government is keen on developing cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Speaker said that Malaysia honors Iran as a great Muslim nation acquiring science and technology and making progress for prosperity of the Muslim nation. “This is a source of honor for all Muslims worldwide.’/end
