1st Int’l Iranian Languages, Dialects Conference Planned

Tehran, May 21, IRNA – The First International Iranian Languages and Dialects Conference will be held here from June 7-8. Communications and information dissemination secretary of the conference, Kiyanoush Kiyani said that the event will seek to introduce the Iranian languages and dialects to the society. Paving the way for conducting new researches on Iran’s ancient languages and vernaculars with a linguistic approach are among other objectives of the event, he noted. Some 70 scientific lectures will be presented during the event, he said, noting that experts from Germany, Tajikistan, Austria and Italy will deliver lectures. Topics for discussion at the conference include new researches on ancient Iranian languages and texts, Persian language geography and relationship between the Iranian languages and foreign languages, he said. Noted Iranian linguists Ali Ashraf Sadeqi and Badr al-Zaman Qarib will deliver lectures during the event, Kiyani said./end
