Mehmanparast: Serial Bomb Blasts In Syrian Have Been Masterminded

Tehran, May 28, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said here on Monday that the serial bomb explosions in Syria have been masterminded. Speaking to IRNA, Mehmanparast said following news broadcast on former UN secretary general Kofi Annan's efforts to reach a deal for ending unrest in the country, the world is now witnessing pre-planned bomb explosions in Syria. There are certain countries that are against restoration of security and stability to Syria and they are doing their best to trigger unrest, instability and insecurity in the country, he said. The Zionist regime is the root cause of all these problems, he said, adding that weakening of the regime's position accounted for its warmongering policies against regional countries. The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first countries to approve of Annan's proposals, he said, adding that Iran believes that the six clause accord offered by Annan can help bring calm to Syria. Those who are against restoration of security to Syria have masterminded serial bomb explosions in the country to continue their sinister plots, he said. Islamic awakening destroyed the bastions of superpowers in the region, he said, adding that following their failure in triggering unrest in Iran and Algeria, they have now focused their attention on Syria, he aid. Following weakening of the Zionist regime, the superpowers seek to find a way out for the regime, he said. The US seeks to dictate the will of a minority over the majority which is a blatant example of dictatorship, he said. Over 2,000 Syrian policemen were killed by insurgents, he said, adding that in Bahrain most victims are civilians but the US and its allies fully back unrest in Syria. During the reign of Mubarak and Sadat, Egypt used to support the Zionist regime but now and in the wake of Islamic awakening movements the Egyptian people are now calling for expulsion of Zionists, he said. Many rulers in the region have ignored the fact that they have to rely on their own people instead of big powers, he said./end
