Iran Condoles With Iraq On Terrorist Attacks Casualties

Tehran, June 5, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali-Akbar Salehi, in a message to his Iraqi counterpart, Houshiar Zibari, extended his condolences on the killing of at least 26 people and wounding of more than 190 in a terrorist operation in central Baghdad on Monday. Salehi in his message condemned the Monday blasts, adding that resorting to such violent acts and targeting the innocent people of Iraq is indicative of the terrorist groups' approach in opposing the will of the majority of Iraqis. “The axis of Zionists and the alliance of unbelievers and hypocrites aim to prevent the formation of an influential powerful new Iraq by the use of such desperate actions.” Iranian FM added that the Iraqi nation and government will pass the waves of enemy’s seditions, plots and will overcome the problems. Salehi also extended sympathy to the Iraqi nation and government as well as the families of the victims over the Monday blasts. A suicide bomber detonated an explosive-packed car outside a Shi'ite Muslim office in central Baghdad on Monday, killing at least 26 people and wounding more than 190. The attacker targeted the Shi'ite Endowment - a government-run body that manages Shi'ite religious and cultural sites - leaving dead and wounded along a main street nearby and blasting part of its headquarters to rubble, police said./end
