Jazayeri: US Failed To Harm Syria, Resistance Front

Tehran, June 25, IRNA - Vice Chairman the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces in charge of cultural affairs Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said on Sunday that current situation in Syria indicates that the US and its allies have failed to deal a blow to Syria and the resistance front. On intervention of aliens in Syria's internal affairs, he said the stands adopted by the US state department on overthrowing of the Syrian government is 'nonsense' and it is quite evident that the US coup in Syria has failed. The issue of resistance is not something Iran can simply ignore, he said, adding that the resistance is strong enough to defend itself and inflict remarkable damage on the enemies. The enemies of Syria pursue their hostile policies through military and terrorist acts which have resulted in heavy civilian casualties, he said, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to prevent foreign interference in the country’s domestic affairs and help the Syrian people and government to overcome difficulties under a calm and peaceful atmosphere, Jazayeri said./end
