Salehi: Iran-Pakistan Ties In Best Possible Status

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister, Ali-Akbar Salehi, on Sunday termed Iran-Pakistan relations in the best possible condition calling for stronger ties between Iranian and Pakistani people.
Salehi further told Pakistani Speaker of Senate Seyed Nir Hossein Bokhari that using the opportunities available, Iran and Pakistan would witness further expansion of mutual ties.
Touching on western sanctions against Iran over the past three decades, Salehi said, “Despite sanctions, we have gained self-sufficiency in many scientific and technical fields and Iran’s capacity today is more than that in the past.”
Bokhari for his part stressed promotion of parliamentary relations between Iran and Pakistan, saying his country in interested in enhanced ties with Iran.
He said that Tehran-Islamabad cooperation would serve mutual interests./end
