Salehi Converses With Brahimi On Phone

Tehran, Sept 9, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed latest developments of Syria with UN Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi over the phone on Saturday. According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, Salehi told UN envoy that Iran is seeking a peaceful solution for Syria without foreign interference. He also told Brahimi that Iran stands ready to help him to establish peace in Syria. Brahimi thanked Salehi for his call and emphasized the positive role of Iran in Syria developments. He also stressed that political solution is the only way in Syria and expressed hope that all involved sides help establish security in Syria and peace in the region. He called for more consultations to access a peaceful solution in Syria./end
