Iraqi Official: Baghdad Eager To Boost Ties With Iran

Qazvin, Sept 24, IRNA -- Advisor of Iraqi President in Economic and Trade Affairs Abdullah Haj Saeed said on Sunday that Baghdad is willing to boast ties with Iran. He made the remarks in a meeting with Governor General of Qazvin Ahmad Ajam. Haj Saeed said despite the western pressures on Iran and the sanctions, Baghdad is keen to expand its ties with neighboring and friendly country of Iran in all fields of interests including political, economic, trade and cultural areas. He said Iranian and Iraqi peoples enjoy deep cultural, historical and religious common grounds and longstanding coexistence and friendship, therefore the sincere relations are solid and irreversible. The advisor to Iraqi president said Iraq expects Iran to keep growing economic ties with Iraq especially with Kurdistan of Iraq. Heading a 13-member delegation to Qazvin, Haj Saeed asked Iranian investors to develop partnership with Iraqi businessmen and go ahead with active participation carrying out development projects in Kurdistan province of Iraq./end
