Vahidi: Zionist Regime With Tens Of N-warheads Transgresses Red Line

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA -- Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Saturday that the Zionist regime with tens of nuclear warheads and weapons of mass destruction has transgressed the red line of international community. Speaking at the defense committee, he said if possession of nuclear bombs is tantamount to transgressing the international community's red line, the Zionist regime has done so and should be dealt with. Referring to satirical painting by premier of the occupying regime at the UN General Assembly, he said the occupying regime with its nuclear stockpiles pose military threats to others which is very dangerous while the Islamic Republic of Iran has no nuclear weapons and call for disarmament of nuclear arms and merely seek nuclear energy for civilian use in line with Non-Proliferation Treaty. The international community must pile up pressure on the warmongering and occupying regime which is stockpiling WMDs rather than the independent states seeking peaceful nuclear energy for civilian utility, agriculture and medication, Vahidi said. He said that if the US officials and the western governments really seek to thwart war in the region and the globe, they should cut ties with the Zionist regime and put pressure on Tel Aviv to abolish its nuclear arsenals. The Zionist regime is resorting to media hype against Iran's peaceful nuclear program in attempt to legitimize itself vis-a-vis the world public opinion, Vahidi said./end
