Khazaie: UNSC Check Zionists’ Breaching Of Numerous Int’l Laws In Palestine

New York, Oct 16, IRNA – IRI Permanent Representative to UN and Head of NAM Harmonizing Office here Mohammad Khaza’ie stressed Monday need for UN Security Council’s move to end illegal activities and breaching of numerous international laws by Israel in occupied lands. Khazaie was speaking at the UN Security Council Monday evening session in his address on behalf of the Non Aligned Movement. Reflecting on the organization’s stand on latest developments in occupied Palestine, Khazaie expressing serious worries about the current conditions of the occupied territories, particularly in the West Bank and in Gaza Strip. He reiterated that the NAM is committed to continuing contributions to the Palestinian nation aimed at materializing their legitimate demands and their absolute rights in the framework of justice in determining of their own fate all by themselves, in the independent Palestinian country that still remains to be established. Te permanent Iranian envoy also voiced NAM’s support for the membership of Palestine at the UN, in the framework of their rights to decide their own fate and their independence, expressing regret that the entire efforts made by the international and regional organizations and groups, including the Quadrilateral Group (The UN, Russia, EU and US) have achieved no progress, just due to the opposition of Israel. Khazaie elaborated on the worries of NAM about the inhumane prevailing conditions in occupied lands, emphasizing, “A part of these worries are due to the intensification of the Zionist regime’s aggressive moves, terrorist acts, openly observed and shameless racism, demolishing of houses, invading the civilian homes in cities and villages throughout the West Bank, decades of excavations under the Dome of the Rock and invading the worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque and in eastern quarter of the occupied Holy Qods routinely every Friday. He said, “The NAM meanwhile expresses serious concern over the continuation of illegal construction of Zionist townships in occupied territories, particularly in the vicinity of the eastern quarter of Beit ul-Muqaddas (Jerusalem) and considers it obvious breaching of the international laws, including the numerous ratifications of the UN Security Council.”/end
